Two Things, one funny and one not so much

All I can say to the funny one is: HA. Good luck.

And the second one, a quote (with bolding by me for emphasis):

The firebombing consisted of by-then standard methods; dropping large amounts of high-explosive to blow off the roofs to expose the timbers within buildings, followed by incendiary devices (fire-sticks) to ignite them and then more high-explosives to hamper the efforts of the fire services. This eventually created a self-sustaining firestorm with temperatures peaking at over 1500 °C. After the area caught fire, the air above the bombed area became extremely hot and rose rapidly. Cold air then rushed in at ground level from the outside and people were sucked into the fire.

Can you believe we helped? We've done worse, but this is up there...
What I really want to do right now is go wandering in the great forests surrounding Mt. Rainier. Reason tells me that it wouldn't be as good as I'm imagining it, as I know for a fact it's raining (and has been raining for 24 days straight) in Seattle, whereas here in Tuebingen it's cold but sunny. So I guess I should edit my wish: I want to go wandering in the great forests surrounding Mt. Rainier in the summer in bright, 70 degree weather.

Yeah, that's what I want to do right now.

But what I actually need to be doing is something that I have been putting off for the last two hours: go grocery shopping. bleh.

Anyone have ideas for a healthy, hot dish? My culinary creativity, while having added a few recipies to its repetoire, is basically limited to a few Thai dishes, a few German dishes, pasta, creations made from mozzarella/tomato/basil combinations, and salad. Help me?

I am sooooo addicted to Arrested Development. I hope they never go off the air, I hope I can buy the DVD's once I'm back in the States, and I really wish I had the disk space to have them all on my computer at the same time. How cool would that be? Right now I have about 7 episodes, but a guy on the network has all of season 2 and some of seasons 1 and 3.

Everyone should do their part to save this amazing show, and not just for my sake. Trust me, you'll love it. Watch a few episodes, because that's about how much time it takes to get into the show. After that - see if you can break the addiction... because I find it very difficult...

Time to go make some food. Bis dann...

Jeff - do you still want to go to Balingen today?

okay, so I guess if you "draft" a post, that is, if you save it, it'll publish it retrospectively. So my updates on my trip are there, they're just a few posts back. I guess I should do the thing where I write my stuff in Word, save it there if necessary, and then publish it all at once. Oh well. Go read and enjoy.
Oh for Pete's Sake

I have just one question: Why? Honey, just stick to adopting babies. You were doing really well right there.

Although, I must admit, the kid's gonna be pretty hot.

I just got my cell phone bill in the mail today.

It is astronomical.

There is no way my cell phone is leaving the country again. It will stay home for every trip I take. My cell phone company bills me for even the smallest four-second call from SOMEBODY ELSE to MY PHONE when I'm in a different European country. GRR. So I assume if I leave it off, I can't be billed with these ridiculous charges.

This is much, much worse than the Bank of America snafu. Soooo angry right now.

Seattle has already won the title as the fittest city in the United States. Looks like we have another title to go along with it...

Updates soon, I swear! I'm working on my story all the time...
